New Year, New Believers - John 4:27-38

Why did Jesus spend time talking to the Samaritan woman at the well?  When you think about it she was from a people who found hostility toward the Jews (which Jesus was).  What purpose is there in interacting with those who hate you and despise your beliefs? This very question is answered in the person of Jesus.
